Moving Through with Jen Naylor is a space for dance and guided meditation exploring our elemental nature—Water, Metal, Fire, Air and Earth. Like weather, we change and we can embody the rhythms of this change with intention. Through expressive movement and mindful stillness, we flow from fluid release, fiery activation, airy expansion, spacious surrender and grounded stillness. Designed for all abilities, this session invites you to honour your inner landscape, embrace transformation, and reconnect with the wisdom of nature's cycles. No experience needed—just bring your breath, body, and openness to move with change.

Bench Across Borders

As part of our opening gathering, we’re delighted to welcome Jay Rosa Ana, Worcestershire Poet Laureate, bringing her Bench Across Borders project to Llangollen.

Bench Across Borders uses words and poetry to connect people and places, and during the gathering we’ll be exploring ideas of place, belonging, home and community.

Add your own voice too — whether that’s a few words, a line, a thought or a little poem.

Throughout Fringe week, Daisy Green will take Bench Across Borders through the Literature & Word programme, gathering more words and voices from Llangollen along the way.

Those contributions will then come back together at our Closing Social Gathering on Saturday 12th September at 2pm, as part of Laureate in the Wild.

Join creator Jen Naylor and creative coach Sheryl Crowes at the Story Hive Theatre—a unique tabletop theatre crafted from a real beehive. In this hands-on workshop, you will craft your own dollypeg puppet to bring a personal story to life. Whether it is a tale of your own or one from someone you know well, our hosts will guide you through the process. Priestess and theatre creator Jen Naylor will help you uncover the story waiting to be told, while actress Sheryl Crowes will help you embody the drama and bring your character to life.

Jamie Matheson has been murdered, and the police need your help to find his killer.

Dare you set foot inside Definitely Haunted’s most recent location, Danville Asylum, to solve this devilish crime?

A paranormal night at Danville Asylum, made famous by the TV show Definitely Haunted, has gone awry, and there is a murder to solve.

With your fellow sleuths, or on your own, review the crime scene and the clues, listen to the stories of the four suspects, and decide who you think murdered Jamie Matheson and how.

You will hear the suspects defend themselves before being given time to review the evidence and make your decision. The murderer will then make themselves known and tell you the gory details of this despicable crime.

Suitable for: Fiddle players (all melody instruments welcome)

Join award-winning Welsh fiddler Aneirin Jones (Vrï) for a workshop exploring the rich tradition of Welsh fiddle music.

Drawing on tunes learned through Wales' vibrant session culture and his experience performing with Vrï and Pendevig, Aneirin will share a selection of Welsh jigs, reels and traditional melodies, exploring style, ornamentation and the distinctive character of the repertoire.

While the workshop is fiddle-led, all melody instruments are welcome. Participants should be comfortable learning by ear and playing at an intermediate to advanced level.

CREATIVE CALM with Anna Mottershead

This workshop offers a safe and nurturing space to slow down and explore emotions through neuro style art and mindful reflection. Using flowing lines, colour, shapes and guided prompts, participants are invited to experience a workshop where you can leave with a sense of calm, grounding and reflection.

No artistic experience is needed — the focus is not on creating “perfect” art, but on the process of self expression.

Join acclaimed Welsh singer-songwriter Sarah Zyborska (SERA) for a welcoming workshop exploring the rich tradition of Welsh folk song.

Drawing on her experience as both a performer and workshop leader, Sarah will guide participants through learning by ear, singing together and discovering traditional Welsh repertoire in a relaxed and supportive environment. Through a varied selection of Welsh folk songs, participants will explore the stories, meanings and melodies behind the music, building confidence to sing together and connect with the Welsh tradition. A selection of instruments and percussion will also be available, inviting participants to accompany the songs and enjoy making music together.

No previous singing experience is needed.

Suitable for: Anyone interested in singing (no previous experience required)

Discover the beauty of Arabic folk singing in this welcoming, participatory workshop led by Yasmine Latkowski (Panedeni), joined by special guest Sarah Zyborska (SERA).

Drawing on her work with Panedeni and her experience bringing Arabic and Welsh musical traditions into conversation, Yasmine will introduce participants to the distinctive vocal style, rhythms and melodies of Arabic folk singing through a traditional Egyptian folk song. The workshop will then explore an original piece featuring both Arabic and Welsh, with Sarah joining Yasmine to demonstrate how the two traditions can sit alongside one another through shared singing.

No previous singing or language experience is required.

Using creative prompts, we'll begin by exploring poetry, prose or free writing to spark ideas and inspiration. From there, you'll transform your words into a unique handmade zine—perhaps by cutting up your writing to create found poetry, typing on a vintage typewriter, or searching for words and images that resonate with what you've written. There are no rules, only the freedom to create.

A zine is a small, handmade publication that can hold poetry, stories, memories, drawings, collage, thoughts, dreams or anything else you want to explore.

Whether you're a writer, artist, or someone who simply enjoys being creative, this workshop offers a welcoming space to experiment, play and express yourself. All materials will be provided, and you'll leave with your own unique zine to take home.

No experience is needed—just curiosity and a willingness to create.

Come along, meet like-minded people, and discover the joy of making something that's entirely your own.
