Performers include:

  • Daisy Green: A confessional poet whose work, often described as dark and deep, offers hope even in the darkest times.
  • Patricia Summer: Her poetry is influenced by the Welsh natural landscape and her deep sense of connection to people and place.
  • Lucy Sutton: A Socialist, Trade Unionist, Antifascist, and Anti-Racist, Lucy presents a takedown of Austerity Britain through Spoken Word.
  • David Haworth: Combines micro-storytelling and poetry, offering a slanted view of reality where the mundane meets the fantastic.
  • Kirsty Wild: Ranging from raging verse to silly ditties, Kirsty’s style is best described as pot-luck poetry.
  • Carol Finch: Feminist poetry rooted in history and myth.
  • Benjamin J. Wilson: A spoken word poet steeped in self-deprecation and odd rhythms, questioning masculinity, mental health, addiction, and the confusion of living in this time and space.
  • Viviane Peoc'h: Where narrative meets balladry, her poetry glides upon tender free verse, sonnet, elegy, and realistic political lullaby, inspired by Nature, Love, and Death.
  • Gareth Culshaw: An imagist poet influenced by the Welsh landscape.
  • Glyn Edwards: His latest collection is shortlisted for Wales Book of the Year. An ecopoet encouraging more people from working-class backgrounds to write.
  • Pat Edwards: Curator of Welshpool Poetry Festival, Pat is a writer, reviewer, and workshop leader from Mid Wales.
  • Jennifer Naylor: An unapologetically shy poet with a bold and rhythmic voice, inviting you into her world of sensitivity.
  • Siân Griffin: Believes that once her poems are spoken, they belong to the listener to interpret and make their own.
  • Jean Atkin:  Jean's third full collection 'High Nowhere' is just published from IDP. 'High Nowhere' explores weather and place, from the Welsh borders to Iceland.

Let Gales Wine Bar treat you to an unforgettable musical journey with a blend of Middle Eastern influences with English and Welsh sounds, showcasing a vibrant mix of original, multicultural music.  The stage will be graced by three acts, each showcasing a rich tapestry of musical talent, cultural backgrounds, and global influences.

Tim Eastwood will enchant the audience with a diverse repertoire of Welsh, Borders, and Breton folk music, ranging from medieval to modern, played on Welsh bagpipes. Drawing inspiration from Welsh tradition and his extensive experience as a folk and jazz multi-instrumentalist, Tim's performance should not be missed.

Bakhita, a trio consisting of Joëlle Barker, Katie Stevens, and Sam Slater, will captivate the audience with their haunting saxophone, irresistible rhythms, atmospheric ney and clarinet, and intricate oud melodies. Their music spans from ancient to modern Cairo and the Middle East, featuring sensual and exciting Baladi classics, iconic pieces by Adel Waheb, and the reflective compositions of Anouar Brahem. The trio’s unique, individual flair, virtuosic soloing, and distinctive storytelling promise a memorable performance.

Headlining the night is Panedeni, bringing all the evening's artists together on stage behind singer and songwriter Yasmine Latkowski. Yasmine, whose compositions have been featured in Channel 4's Come Dine With Me, BBC Africa Eye, and BBC2 Art of Persia, leads this exciting new musical venture. Panedeni showcases a fusion of Middle Eastern, Welsh, and English folk music, born from a collaboration of remarkable individuals from diverse backgrounds, ensuring a truly unforgettable experience.

Binderella

Binderella

Join us for "Binderella," a tale for our times, set in a world where a baby cries in a bin at night, a Faceless Man carves land for profit, and the fate of the earth hangs upon a single silken spider's thread. This anarchistic wonder story fuses an environmental rallying cry with an uplifting call for compassion and courage in this age of crisis.

Performed by The Ragged Storytelling Collective—Kestrel, Heulwen, and Hazel—this show stitches the raw energy of punk storytelling with the haunting thread of Welsh folk melody and song. Developed through Beyond the Border Storytelling Festival's New Voices scheme and made possible by Arts Council Wales National Lottery Funding, "Binderella" will leave you spellbound.

Praise for Binderella:

"Kestrel is a dynamic and passionate performer with a unique vision. Binderella is a compelling mash-up of memoir, myth, and the Matrix. A must-see!" - Daniel Morden

"A back-alley fairytale, scavenged, upcycled, and retold!"

"I defy anyone not to enjoy this show!"

Don't miss this unique and powerful performance at the Llangollen Fringe Festival!
